  • Overview

    U.S. Water Services is seeking an HR Generalist to support our Strategic Sales and Engineering Organizations, located at our corporate headquarters in St. Michael, MN. The ideal candidate will contribute at both hands-on and strategic levels to support the organization as we grow and scale.  

     

    The HR Generalist will assist in providing a wide range of HR support and advice. The successful candidate will play a key role in the success of the organization by offering guidance on recruitment, terminations, performance management, employee relations and HR best practices while facilitating a positive relationship between employees, managers and teams. In addition, this role will be responsible for working with hiring managers across multiple segments of our organization to source for open positions.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide high-quality advice and service to management on daily employee relations and performance management issues
    • Support the HR department in implementing programs to help improve the employee experience and maintain compliance such as company recognition programs, affirmative action plans or benefits administration
    • Implement and administer employee policies and procedures, and identify ways to improve
    • Help facilitate hiring and on-boarding for new hires
    • Provide support to employees in various HR related topics such as leaves (including FMLA), worker’s compensation, accommodations, compensation, unemployment claims, etc. and resolve issues and problems
    • Promote HR programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace
    • Conduct investigations as needed including but not limited to harassment, discrimination, and violation of company policies
    • Work with management to support employees through development and standardization of performance management program
    • Develop a strong understanding of our business and the broader industry and provide support in a manner that aligns with goals
    • Organize, standardize and implement compensation programs like annual salary planning, MIP, bonus, commission, etc.  Once in place, provide guidance and coaching to management in the delivery of  programs
    • Offer proactive recruiting assistance as needed
    • Gather and analyze data with useful HR metrics
    • Maintain employee files and records in electronic and paper form
    • Attend trainings and seminars to stay current on Human Resources laws, legislation, and trends
    • Provide support to organizational teams regarding customer compliance
    • Other duties as required

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Human Resources or related field experience is preferred; or equivalent business experience
    • 4+ yrs of related HR experience which includes some experience with full life-cycle recruiting and sourcing
    • Experience in water technologies is a plus
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with attention to detail a must
    • Must be able to assess organization issues quickly and be proactive in developing solutions and approaches to move the business forward
    • Professional demeanor with high energy
    • Computer aptitude; include Excel and PowerPoint experience
    • Potential travel
    • Must be flexible, resourceful and comfortable working in changing circumstances/environments
    • PHR Certification preferred
