    The Chief Operating Officer at US Water Services, should have a strong background and proven track record within the supply chain and procurement competencies.  He/She will be responsible for all of chemical operations including chemical production, delivery, chemical purchasing and customer service, providing strong alignment and consistent priorities for the entire order to cash process.  They need to be able to leverage the talents of our people, collaborate and accelerate change to capture operational productivity and efficiency while supporting sales growth.

    Responsibilities

    • Holistic view of Operations, defining and communicating the strategy as well as executing against the agreed upon goals with direct and indirect team.
    • Managing a team of 8 direct reports and over 100 indirect reports across 5 locations.
    • Management of the full order to ship process to include sourcing and transportation.
    • Develop service levels that support the USW mission. Should include compressing lead times and building out infrastructure to improve visibility and scale.
    • Ability to manage multi-site operations and facilities.
    • Familiar with chemical blending process. At a minimum understanding BOM based production systems transitioning from manual entry to a systems based approach.
    • Inventory management to include S&OP, IBP, and/or forecasting. Should include utilization of third party managed warehouses, geographic optimization, and development of inventory segmentation strategy. Have experience managing physical inventory process over 20+ locations with diverse items, and working closely with finance to manage inventory through the E&O process.
    • Sustain a strong safety culture.  Experience with environmental, health, and safety with a focus on OSHA regulations and hazardous waste management. Ability to communicate safety values across a widely dispersed employee population is preferred.
    • Develop processes and systems (OMS) to ensure customer service is part of the USW value proposition.
    • Work closely with vendors to improve lead times, manage costs, and partner to develop solutions. Ability to partner with finance to manage payables and credit.
    • Must have experience managing a private fleet with CDL “A” drivers. Experience working with DOT to include SMS/CSA, Hazardous Materials Regulations, and PHMSA regulations is preferred. Understanding of routing software and ELD requirements.
    • Understanding of freight to include LTL, TL, Bulk, Parcel, point of use deliveries, and specialty carriers. Understand how costs of all phases of freight impact profitability (inbound, intercompany, and outbound).
    • Must have experience integrating cloud based or hosted systems with existing ERP infrastructure.
    • The role may evolve over time and have other operations groups reporting to him/her
    • Continuous improve processes and the customer experience with Lean, Six Sigma or similar process improvement expertise
    • Experience managing data to include development of dashboards and reporting.
    • Strategic thinking -  how to build and structure operations to deliver required service level more efficiently and create a better customer experience

    Qualifications

    • 10+ years of direct operational management/leadership positions with strong financial acumen
    • Proven ability to drive change;  standardize process and procedure; build and maintain a strong performance and accountability culture
    • Must have industrial experience, chemical blending or manufacturing preferred
    • Masters SCM or MBA preferred
