  • Overview

    U.S. Water Services is seeking a Expediter to support our Supply Chain Group.  This position can be located at either our corporate headquarters in St. Michael, MN or in our Plant in Grapevine, TX.


    The expediter is an essential communications bridge between several cross-functional areas including production, transportation, inventory, IT, customer service and sales.  Centralizing communications, this position directs cross-functional teams to the correct employee or team to assist with specific customer requirements and questions.   Responsible for assigning chemical, reagent and equipment orders across US Water to the appropriate facility or Buyer to maintain a balance between speed, efficiency, and cost.  The expediter must coordinate activities between multiple departments to make sure deadlines are both reasonable and met on time.  Will work with Inventory Team to maintain proper inventory levels to expedite deliveries to customers. The expediter should possess a sound knowledge of supply chain processes and procedures including manufacturing planning, demand, transportation and replenishment.


    • Assign sales order in ERP to the correct facility or US Water Buyer.
    • Communicate with internal departments regarding availability exceptions with customer sales orders.
    • Coordinate with Production Coordinator or Buyer to execute plan as needed.
    • Work with Customer Service and Sales on consistent order entry and order processing.
    • Work closely with Inventory Team to transfer products to 3rd party warehouses and make recommendations on stocking levels for finished goods.
    • Ensure raw material inventory is managed, appropriately set, and adjusted as needed.
    • Report KPIs on performance.


    • Prefer BA/BS or commensurate work experience.
    • Excellent organizational and attention to detail skills.
    • Ability to manage complex tasks and resolve conflicts that arise from balancing multiple priorities.
    • Proficient use of Microsoft office products, Outlook, Excel and Navision, and knowledge of working with an ERP system.
    • Experience working cross-functionally across a geographically dispersed organization.
    • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to reason and influence at all levels.
    • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
    • Must remain calm under pressure
    • Prefer U.S. Water experience.
